We spent this past week together. No day care. No work. It was my favorite.
You are almost 8 months and my have you changed. Every day I swear you pick up a new skill or grow a little bit and look a little different. Everyone tells you how fast time passes and it’s true, I feel like I blinked and you grew. You are still cuddly and content being held but man oh man do you want to move. You reach down for the ground all the time but once I place you there you get frustrated. You slap those little hands on the floor, almost as if you think hitting the floor will make you move forward! You little legs flair, but you just haven’t quite figured out how to go forward. Backwards though? You have that completely figured out! I know you will be there soon and I hope that it happens for the first time at home and not at daycare. Thinking about all the firsts I will most likely miss kills me inside.
You have a love hate relationship for solid food. You still prefer to nurse all the time and choose it over everything else. You don’t like puree’s but you could munch on bell peppers or apple slices all day long. You also really love the teething bars and you mango sweet potato puffs. You have mastered your neat pincer grasp and are a magnet to all the small specks you find on the floor.
Eloise, your smile and giggle are contagious. Everyone you meet always comments first about your cheeks and second about how happy and content you are. I hope you never lose your sparkle and joy. I hope we can foster it and that you take it everywhere you go in this crazy life.
This week we played outside, you felt grass for the first time and of course tried to eat it. We went for walks in the sun, met up with friends and frequented Target one too many times. Spring is finally here and it made me even more excited for everything we will get to do together this summer.
You are imitating frequently, sitting up like a champ (and catching yourself if you lose your balance), and want to stand all the time. You even pulled up while sitting on my knee! I have a feeling you will be fast once you start moving!
Lately you love your toy dinosaurs, your banana toothbrush, and your Crinkle Crinkle Little Start Book. You still love bath time and splash away! You also picked up this little whine, not quite a cry but more of a whimper/whine when you want something. When we put music on and I start dancing with you, you join right in flapping those arms up and down frantically. Every stage so far is my favorite and I ceratinly miss those early days, but I absolutely love watching you grown and learn new skills. You are my sunshine sweet girl.
