April is here and I can feel the warmth coming back to the air. The mornings and evenings are cool but that middle of the day sun is the best, trust me, you will love it too!
You are growing, growing, growing. I love watching you watch the world, you have a curious spirit, always looking over my shoulder at the people or things around us, but clinging tightly to my neck so that I don’t put you down or pass you to someone. You like to observe from a distance. It has been me and you lately on weekends, your dad has had a busy life lately, but I will never complain about 1 on 1 time because before I know it you will want those weekends to be spent with friends (which is fair).
You babble constantly, new sounds emerge each day. Still just two teeth, but man can you eat. You don’t really like baby food, but want to dive face first into whatever it is we are eating, so we’ve slowly been letting you try more and more food. You sweet girl, love to nurse. It has become easier and harder if that makes any sense. Your curiosity gets the best of you so our nursing sessions sometimes take a while, you pause, look around and come back. This has taught me patience, because sometimes my anxious mind gets the best of me and I want you to eat so we can go check something off our to-do list, but I’ve learned the to-do lists can wait. You are growing up so fast and I want to remember and be apart of every minute of that, the laundry and dishes will always be there, but you will only be little for so long.
You are still sleeping in our room, because you wake up every 2 hours still, sometimes to eat, sometimes for comfort, and I cannot fathom doing the stairs that many times a night, plus having you close is the best. Daycare drop off’s have gotten harder and harder, you cling tightly to me as soon as we enter that door and you cry like clock work every time I have to pry your little fingers off and pass you to one of your teachers.
I hope you always stay curious. I hope you always stay snuggly. I hope you always know how much I love you.
