After a lot of searching, saving, paperwork and tears, I am excited to say that we are HOMEOWNERS!
A and I bought a house a town over from where we grew up in New Hampshire. It was not our number one choice for town, but you learn about giving and taking during the process. We had a tentative deadline to find something and move before August (because baby girl will be here soon!), we also had a tight budget, which meant we had to be flexible with certain things- including location. Even though it was not our first choice of town, we love it and the neighborhood is adorable and safe. It is also close (walking distance) to Main street which made it worth it even more for us.
The house is small, but a perfect starter home for us. It has a yard, a garage, a huge back deck, and we even own a small part of the wooded area that has walking trails. The house has two bedrooms, two full baths, a small dining area, and a living room. It also has a wonderful mudroom and basement.
So far we have painted the kitchen and the nursery. I have scrubbed the walls, baseboards, windows and floors of most rooms. We are slowly making progress and are moving all of our stuff out of storage and into the house next weekend!
Next up is, knocking down a wall to expand the dining room, dry walling and finishing the basement, and buying a lawnmower so our neighbors don’t kill us for not mowing the grass!
I cannot wait to share home buying tips, before and afters, and more house posts in the next few weeks!
