Christmas Traditions

December is my favorite.

I think I also say that about October, I guess it’s a toss up.
December is magical. Cheerful. Wonderful. The holidays make me smile a little bigger, be a little more thankful and love a little more. The memories that I have around the holidays with my family are cherished and now that A and I are creating our own story together, it means more traditions to be started. Some of the best traditions we have are simple ones, ones that do not require a lot of money or time and that make life a little easier around this hectic time.
Holiday Cards // There is just something about getting a holiday card in the mail that makes me so happy. It isn’t often we get mail other than bills, so getting a card in the mail is cause for excitement. Sending out our own is something we have been doing since we got married, it is a fun way to send out a little love to family & friends. One of my favorite things to do on our holiday cards is give a little life update for those family and friends you don’t see that often. We have been ordering our stationary/cards from Tiny Prints for years, their selection is by far my favorite and they have so many different options. We went with letterpress cards because I have a thing for letterpress stationary.

Address Labels // Customized address labels from Tiny Prints add a little something special to the envelopes we send our Christmas cards out in. It is such a fun and simple way to spice the envelope up and it saves time because now I don’t have to spend all my time writing my address on the cards! Simple & cheerful, it doesn’t get much better.

Christmas Lists // This is one of my most favorite traditions. We started this a few years ago and have been doing it every year. At the beginning of December we put in a Christmas movie, we curl up on the couch and we spend a little while browsing the internet and creating our Christmas list for each other.
Wrapping Paper // Wrapping is one of my favorite things to do, I take pride in how I wrap and tie the box, what ribbon to use, how I put the label and what it looks like when I am done. Last year I remember feeling rushed and overwhelmed about all the wrapping I had to do and I decided there had to be a solution that saved time while wrapping. I was searching around for wrapping paper and saw that Tiny Prints had custom paper that was adorable and when it came in the mail I was highly impressed with the quality. I don’t have to spend time putting on labels just right, or worrying about my handwriting when signing my name, it is all done for me!
Do you have holiday traditions?
I can’t wait to see how ours change as we grow our family.
