Last year was the first Christmas that Aaron and I were living together, I tried to find little ways to make it a special holiday season. One of the things I have always loved about Christmas are the little advent calendars where you find the day, pop open the cardboard flap, and eat the chocolate hidden inside. Well to be honest the chocolate has never been that tasty, so last year I made my own. I decided to do the same for this year, but a little differently. I hunted all over Pinterest, but for the first time EVER Pinterest let me down, I couldn’t find any ideas I loved, so I went back to the drawing board (and my crafting supplies) to figure out what I could make with what I had.
Here is what you will need:
– 25 small brown bags (really any color!)
– Paint markers or sharpie
– Cork board (or some other nicely covered board)
– Gift tags (optional)
I took the cork board I used last year, two took different kinds of ribbon and wrapped it all over the board in kind of a mixed pattern. I then took each little bag and wrote 1-25 using red, green, and silver pain markers. After they were dry I stuffed them with candy and occasionally threw in a gift tag with a fun Christmas activity on it for us to do. Then I took my clothespins and tried to line them up random order. I decided to only use the silver paint marker for #25 since it’s special!
