the house that built me.

“I thought if I could touch this place or feel it

This brokenness inside me might start healing.

Out here it’s like I’m someone else.
I thought that maybe I could find myself.
If I could just come in I swear I’ll leave.
Won’t take nothin but a memory,
From the house that built me.”

There is nothing better then venturing back to the place where you grew up, and getting wrapped up in the comfort of familiarity and love. Aaron and I went home for a few days this week (sorry for the blog hiatus!), and it was absolutely lovely.

I got to sleep in my bed, cuddle with my pup, play with my handsome little cat, and had mother daughter time! We went home to take care of some wedding stuff, which was also fun!

We hung out with friends. Visited our wedding venue. Registered at Target. Went to our favorite mexican place. Had smoothies with an old teacher. Enjoyed warm weather. Strolled around Boston, starring at the eery clouds last night. Started to knit a blanket.

It was the perfect trip home, certainly not long enough! Now we are back to the grind of school and life.

  1. I am glad you took a hiatus to enjoy yourself there. SO important.

Beautiful flowers…and beautiful animals! Must have been so nice to see them.

  2. Looks like it was a great trip. I'm loving following along with your wedding planning. I *might* be living vicariously through you!! 🙂
